Open Door Ministries 6-Week Program
is the place for you. With only an entry fee of $390.00, Open Door is a 42-day
residential program that teaches victory over sin through Jesus Christ and
the Bible. This is done through classroom teaching, audio tapes,
pastoral counseling, homework, worship services and work projects.
Daily teaching, pastoral counseling, devotionals, personal Bible study and
prayer provide the means by which these objectives are accomplished. This,
combined with a disciplined schedule, healthful climate, nutritious food and
relaxing recreation, soon restores a measure of physical health and a more
positive mental outlook. The residents also participate in routine
maintenance of the facilities, general upkeep of the grounds and community
projects. Open Door's program is primarily designed to produce in each man a
more effective lifestyle in which he allows Jesus Christ to take control.
TYPICAL DAY
Wake-up call is at 6:30 a.m., followed by
breakfast at 7:00. After making beds and cleaning rooms, the men assemble
together in the classroom for 25 minutes of devotional and quiet time,
including assigned Bible study. Morning Bible teaching continues from 8:30
a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Work assignments for the day are then made and
residents work until approximately 4:30 p.m. with a break for lunch, and a
mid-afternoon break. Work assignments do not produce an income, but are
designed to produce discipline and responsibility. Evening services are held
on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and study-related videos are shown on
Wednesday evening. This required schedule teaches participants to better
manage their time and supports the goal of adding more manageability to
their lives.
